Demo Pro's; Tearing Down the Old and Restoring the Good Parts

Demolition and Clean-up is a necessary service provided by Sharp Contracting that has become more of a business than we ever thought it would.  Most jobs require some demolition and site preparation, and our demo service has expanded on that.  More than once we have built an addition or poured new concrete, only to have the homeowner see what our excavator could do and ask us to remove the old shed, garage or barn while we are there.

Some demolition jobs are very clean and straight forward, some are more complicated.  We pride ourselves on having the right tools as well as the right skills for the job.  Although there has never been a claim, we are bonded and insured as required by Washington State Law.  Sharp Contracting does not perform hazardous material abatment, but we are affiliated with a company that performs testing, provides certifications to ORCA (Olympia Region Clean Air), and does abatement.

Demolition Considerations and FAQ's:

• If it requires a permit to build, it probably requires a permit to remove.
• Permitting is our job, and if one is not required we will confirm that with the permit authority.
• Permit fee's are typically less than 1% of our bid price, and are good insurance; lack of a permit constitutes negligence.
• We always contact local utilities and use their locate service, surprises are not OK in this business.
• Debris is always disposed of legally; we provide you with copies of disposal reciepts, and bill you only for our cost.

Demolition is Fun to do; Until Someone gets hurt  We take our business seriously, as well as it's associated risks.  This photo  demonstrates that we know how to get the job done.....and bring everyone home in one piece.  For more complex demolition jobs it is not uncommon for us to bring in an engineer or other expert to insure that there are no surprises.  We also recieve ongoing safety training, supervised by the Dept of Labor and Industry.
